Spooks And Ghosts At McDonald's by Carol Masonberg

Today’s Halloween decorations reminds of days gone by. On October 12th I went to McDonald’s to have coffee. I was attracted by the decorations. They remind me of the fun we had when I was little. There was a basket with a skeleton’s head in it and a ghost nearby. There were ghosts hanging from the ceiling over the cashier. Entering the dinning room, another skeleton and a basket with a black cat in it. Over the center of the room hung pumpkins, black and orange streamers from the ceiling and over to the side there are witches. All this scary stuff and yet it reminds me of fun while I enjoy a cup of coffee.

When I was young and went trick and treating, the excitement was high as we went from house to house. Sometimes it was spooky to ring someone’s bell and other times there were parties. I remember one house that when the door was opened, a kid put a blindfold on me and took me through the house while weird noises were made. When they took off the blindfold there was a bucket of apples in front of me. Before we could have an apple and finally leave, we had to bob for one and could only use our mouths. Our arms had to stay behind us. I never had so much fun!

Today only the decorations remind me of the fun of days gone by. Because there are real dangers and spooky, scary stuff could be real. Today if some one takes you through the house by surprise, you’d want to call the police. Today the only fun at Halloween is the decorations
